Paul Walker, MS - Executive Director

(1993)  Paul is a Plainview, TX native.  He served as Executive Director of the Serenity Center for 5 years. Paul has been counseling adults and children with mental illness and addictions for 10 years.  Paul has been actively involved in grant writing and project management to bring services to remote, rural areas in west Texas.

Susan Owens, BS - Counselor Intern

(2003)  Susan counsels women and children.  She is the clinical therapist for chemical dependency and mental illness.

Maria Sheetz, MS - President, Board of Directors

(2001)  Maria Sheetz has been a member of the board of directors for four years and has served as Board President since 2003.  For 20 years, she coordinated many programs for Central Plains Center for MH/MR.  Maria has been instrumental in bring human services to the Plainview area.  She has been very active in civic organizations and is currently a Spanish teacher in the Plainview Independent School District.

Yvonne L. LaMar, Ph.D. - Board of Directors

(2004)  Dr. LaMar is currently an assistant professor of education at Wayland Baptist University.  She has spent years counseling, training, and doing research about women and their children.  Her first book, God Provides The Sacrifice:  Women Discuss Making Their Hardest Decisions was published in 2004.  In 2005, Dr. LaMar will present her current research about children's moral development at the Oxford Round Table.
